Authorising Engineer - Fire

Lee joined DRLC in July 2025. With oer 30 years experience of serving in dynamic and high-risk environments, heis a highly accomplished Fire Safety and Health & Safety professional. He also has extensive service with the Royal Navy alongside work fire safety work within prestigious institutions such as King’s College London, Harrods, and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

Lee’s career began in the Royal Navy, where he progressed to key leadership positions. At RNAS Yeovilton, he served as a Crew Commander for aircraft crash fire and rescue operations, a role equivalent to a Watch Manager, where he demonstrated critical incident command expertise. He also held the position of Establishment Fire Safety Advisor, stepping up as the Fire Safety Manager. In this capacity, he provided specialist advice, conducted comprehensive fire safety audits for over 350 buildings, and delivered training to more than 6,000 personnel. This has given him a proven track record in fire safety assurance, emergency preparedness, and the production of detailed fire risk assessments for large, complex sites.

Qualifications : NEBOSH Fire Safety, NEBOSH Health & Safety Certificate, Level 4 Award in Fire Safety (Fire Safety Auditor, Pearson Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management. Currently working towards: ABBE L4 Diploma in Fire Risk Assessment.
