DRLC Ltd Joins NHS SBS Framework Agreement

As Authorising Engineers, DRLC play a vital role in supporting fire safety and compliance efforts within healthcare premises. Having been awarded a slot in a new building safety and fire compliance framework for the NHS – the NHS SBS Framework Agreement – means we are now officially approved to provide a wide range of critical services such as fire safety, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act.

What is the NHS SBS Framework and why is it important?

Ensuring NHS buildings are safe, compliant and fucntional has never been more essential. The healthcare sector continues to face significant infrastructre challenges and with the infrastructure backlog reaching an estimated £13.8 billion, it is of utmost priority to address critical repairs to ensure safety of both staff and patients. Recently, NHS Shared Business Service (NHS SBS) launched a comprehensive Building and Fire Safety Compliance Framework Agreement, aimed at tackling these challenges and improving safety standards across NHS buildings and the wider public sector.

For companies like DRLC, the framework offers an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with public sector organisations and provide the Authorising Engineer services required to meet fire safety regulations and other essential compliance requirements.

Brendan Griggin-Ryan, NHS SBS senior category manager, said: “The increased emphasis on fire safety brought about by the dreadful Grenfell Tower disaster has shown that some NHS buildings fail to meet modern safety standards and underscores why fire safety compliance and protocols are paramount.
